Raleigh, N.C. and Columbia Maryland. The Columbia Capital Market Exchange, an open monthly capital networking event, announced today that Cannon Energy and FloLogic had been selected for the June 17, 2010 event at the Hilton Columbia.
Cannon Energy has commercialized a roof top solar panel for commercial buildings, and has two working installations in Maryland. It has identified another 12 locations for roof top installations and will use the forum to describe their revenue model and growth plans.
"Our company is ready to scale up our operations," said Kirk Salvo, the CEO of Cannon Energy, "and we welcome the opportunity to present our growth plans to the Columbia business community."
FloLogic has a patented technology for detecting leaks in plumbing and pipes for homes and commercial buildings. The computerized valve is designed to reduce or eliminate the economic and personal loss associated with the plumbing failures. i.e.washing machine hoses, water heaters, water pipes and associated fittings.
The Company is achieving this objective through the marketing of the FloLogic® System, an automatic leak detection and water shutoff valve ("System") succinctly known as "the circuit breaker for your home plumbing system"®
"We think our product addresses a fundamental environmental problem in America," said Chuck DeSmet, the CEO of FloLogic. He stated that the American Water Work Association has reported that a typical single family home uses 69.3 gal of water per person per day of which 13.8% is attributed to plumbing leaks a statistic confirmed by the EPA. The FloLogic System helps to solve both of these issues.
The capital market event is managed by National Business Promotions, (NBP) of Columbia, Maryland. "We hold these events across the mid-atlantic region to give our region's most promising technology companies greater market visibility," said Jay Updike, the CEO of NBP. "We are pleased that Cannon Energy and FloLogic will be joining us at our inaugural event on June 17."
The presentations by the companies will feature a 15 minute power point presentation and brief question and answer period. The presentation will be preceded by 30 minutes of open business networking with exhibits and booths by local tech companies and professional service providers engaged in supporting the technology community in the Columbia metro region.
"One of the goals in holding these events is to provide companies an opportunity to meet privately with interested investors after the event," said Thomas Vass, the President of The Private Capital Market, Inc. a co-sponsor of the event. "We know that all future job creation and economic growth in Maryland depends on these companies obtaining the growth capital that they need to expand operations," he added.
The event is an open forum for all members of the business community and private capital market, including asset-based lenders, venture capital firms, angel investors, commercial finance companies and investment bankers. "We want to connect companies to the entire capital market," said Vass, "because we know that no single source of capital will solve every financial problem."
The June 17, 2010 event will be held at the Hilton Hotel Columbia, at 5485 Twin Knolls Road. It begins at 5:00pm and is limited to 100 guests. There is no charge to attend but pre-registration is required. (midatlanticnetworking.com)
